Basic Airconditioning working system
A basic airconditioning has few main components which works on principles of
thermodynamics these are Compressor , Condenser , Evaporator , Thermostatic Valve and
Refrigerant .
Refrigerant ( R-22, R-12 , R-410A,R-134A) in compressors is responsible for the heat
transfer and it does through changing its state from gas to liquid and then liquid to gas during
air conditioning cycle .
Hot refrigerant gas moves to condenser ( air cooled or water cooled )where its cooled
down by either water or air . heat transfer takes from hot refrigerant to ambient air which takes
away the heat . This has impact on refrigerant which then starts changing into liquid form .
Thermostatic valve then monitors the quantity of refrigerant to pass on to evaporator . we can
call it as metering device which is an orifice which allows right amount of refrigerant to
evaporator .
Evaporator now changes complete refrigerant into vapour or gas due to heat transfer from
warm air to refrigerant which takes heat to convert itself into gas thus cooling the surface of
coils which then makes the air cool inside the room or the hall .
Refrigerant then comes back to the compressor thus complete the cycle of air conditioning .
this goes on until desired temperatures is achieved . The suction line is the low pressure , low
temperature gas from evaporator to the compressor and discharge line is the one which
pushes high pressure and high temperature gas to the condenser thus creating a pressure
difference which makes refrigerant to flow into system
